METALCON 2022 “GIVE BACK” TO BENEFIT WORLD CENTRAL KITCHEN
Since their founding, World Central Kitchen has provided tens of millions of fresh, nourishing meals for communities in need around the world. With the current events in the Ukraine, more than one million Ukrainians have been forced to flee their homes. Chef Jose Andres, founder of WCK, and his team have been serving hot, nourishing meals at the border crossing into southern Poland and have now expanded their efforts to Romania, Moldova and Hungary and inside of the Ukraine. Let’s work together to send WCK $5,000 to help these communities in need. Due to the urgency of the situation, we will send donations to WCK starting now through October 1. Please donate today! #FOODISAUNIVERSALHUMANRIGHT

METALCON 2022 TOP PRODUCT AWARDS BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND
METALCON exhibitors are once again invited to nominate their top metal products in a variety of 15 categories. To be eligible, a product had to be introduced to the market after January 1, 2021, and its manufacturer must be a 2022 METALCON exhibiting company. Exhibitors are eligible to nominate only one top metal product in one product category only and can select from a variety of categories from walls to roofs, structures, paint and coatings, and more. Submissions are due by June 30 and winners will be announced on September 7. METALCON attendees will be able to view these products on display at this year’s event and will get to vote on-site for their top three. Winners of the “People’s Choice Awards” will be announced from the show floor.
Each year, National Roofing Week is designed to increase awareness about the significance of roofs to every home and business and shares the good deeds of the industry. Hosted by the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), members are encouraged to participate by engaging with their communities and informing the public about the essential role roofs and professional roofing contractors play. Share your company’s photos and videos by using the tag #NationalRoofingWeek in your posts! You can also participate in their “15 Seconds of Fame” Raffle by submitting a 15-second video about your company for a a chance to win a $1000 prize (*must be a NRCA member)! As part of this year’s Roofing Week, check out the NRCA’s PROCertification®, their national certification initiative where experienced workers who demonstrate substantial roofing skills and knowledge can become certified by NRCA in specific roof system installations. Recently, they launched a new “Metal Panel Roof Systems Installer Certificate” in partnership with MCAand MRA, and as part of the program’s roll-out, look for “Hands-on Performance Exams" to be a new feature at METALCON 2022 in October!
Last year, Indy celebrated its bicentennial, marking 200 years since Indianapolis was officially named the capital of Indiana, replacing the original Corydon. Donning the nickname, “Crossroads of America,” Indy sits along the original “National Highway,” the major transportation route to the West for settlers, and today contains the most interstate legs in the nation. The original grid pattern for the city, formulated by Alexander Ralston and Elias Gym Fordham, is still evident today in the center of the downtown area marked by Governor’s Circle. Given the city’s central location, it is also no surprise that The Indianapolis Union Railway Company opened as the first union railroad station in the world in Indy. The arrival of railroads, paired with the town’s mills, helped turn the city into a major manufacturing and transportation hub. For more on the city’s history, you can visit the Indiana State Museum or the Indiana Historical Society while in town for METALCON.
