SUSTAINABILITY — A KEY BENEFIT OF METAL CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS FEATURED AT METALCON ’22
The advantages and benefits that metal construction products bring to any project are many, but industry experts are saying “sustainability is a word that does a great job of blanketing the long list of benefits provided by these products.” Recently, some of the sustainability experts who will be exhibiting and/or speaking at METALCON next month shared their thoughts on the topic. As featured in Retrofit Magazine, Lee Ann Slattery with ATAS International, Alan Scott with Intertek, and Lori Reynolds Morrow with Sheffield Metals, share their views and offer specifics on why metal is the better choice for longer service life. Slattery comments, “The bottom line is that it’s important for contractors and installers to understand the sustainability benefits of metal roofs and walls to help educate a building owner, especially a homeowner who is concerned about the green building product for their home.” With sustainability on our minds now more than ever, the METALCON Sustainability Learning Center, located on the show floor, is a special education hub dedicated to helping you capitalize on this critical issue.
VisitIndy says, “It’s the journey and the destination that make our city unique.” The Indianapolis Cultural Trailconnects 3 of downtown Indianapolis’ unique public spaces, including Lugar Plaza, Downtown Canal Walk, and Georgia Street, contributing to the city’s top ten ranking of being a most walkable city. Take in the city’s architecture while enjoying some green space at Lugar Plaza, lace up your sneakers for a run along Canal Walk, or grab a drink or a bite to eat at one of the restaurants that line Georgia Street. All three public spaces are located within minutes of the convention center by foot or by the IndyGo bus line.

As announced by Trade Show Executive, for the first time in the show’s 30+ year history, METALCON has been selected as a "Gold 100" show for 2021. METALCON Vice President Judy Geller comments, “The pandemic presented a whole host of challenges, and our team rose to the occasion working closely with our vendors and venues. Despite the pandemic, we knew the metal construction industry was looking to us to address their installation challenges, deliver hands-on technical solutions, and facilitate in-person meetings that simply can’t happen via Zoom.” TSE Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Gabrielle Weiss shared, “The accomplishments of the Gold 100 show organizers are a major feat during the ups and downs of the pandemic.” This recognition is not only a win for the show, but a win for the entire Metal Construction and Design Industry.
